CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS
In 2010 Girlguiding will be 100 years old, so to celebrate there are lots of crafts, activites, challenges and parties going on over the coming year ending at 20:10 on 20.10.2010!
The celebrations began on 5th September 2009 and all over the country rainbows, brownies, guides and leaders attended launch parties, ours was Launch 100 at Waddow Hall.
Twelve girls,Tawny Owl & Little Owl went by coach with other packs from Burnley. We then did organised activities - we tried out circus skills and cheerleading, learnt about sign lanuage and tried some crafts. We watched a special show about guiding over the last 100 years and then we joined other brownies for a party.
We had a great time just a shame it rained most of the time!
The celebrations will finish with a finale party!
The changing the world - help the hospice project we did was the start of the challenges that Girlguiding Uk have organised for the centenary.Over the next year we will be joining in with another challenge called Adventure 100.
The girls will decide which activity in each of the 10 sections they would like to do to earn points. When they reach at least 100 points they will earn an adventure 100 badge.
