                  CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS

In 2010 Girlguiding was 100 years old, so to celebrate there were lots of crafts, activites, challenges and parties going on & ending at 20:10 on 20.10.2010!
The celebrations began on 5th September 2009 and all over the country rainbows, brownies, guides and leaders attended launch parties, ours was Launch 100 at Waddow Hall.
Twelve girls,Tawny Owl & Little Owl went by coach with other packs from Burnley. We then did organised activities - we tried out circus skills and cheerleading, learnt about sign lanuage and tried some crafts. We watched a special show about guiding over the last 100 years and then we joined other brownies for a party.
We had a great time just a shame it rained most of the time!

The celebrations finished on 20th October 2010 with Vision - a celebration at Blackburn's new shopping mall. Over 2000 rainbows, brownies, guides, seniors, young leaders and guiders attended and we all made our promise together linked up with other members of Girlguiding U.K across the U.K at the same time at 20:10

We've had a great year of activities celebrating 100 years! Have a look at the Adventure 100 page to see what we got up to.

The changing the world - help the hospice project we did was the start of the challenges that Girlguiding Uk organised for the centenary.Over the year we joined in with another challenge called Adventure 100.
The girls decided which activity in each of the 10 sections they would like to do to earn points. When they reached at least 100 points they earned their Adventure 100 badge.
