           Summer Pack Holiday

This year 12 of our older girls, Tawny Owl,Little Owl and Jackie went to Waddow Hall for our pack holiday, the theme the girls chose was Robin Hood.
Our groups were merry men & outlaws and we did crafts and activities and ate food based on our theme.
We arrived on Friday night and had a welcome meeting, we made quill pens from feathers and tried writing with them using coffee instead of ink , we aged some paper using tea bags and then made wanted posters for each other. The cooks prepared vegetables for Saturdays lunch and we went for a walk and had s'mores and hot chocolate for supper.
On Saturday morning one group did a treasure hunt with Little Owl and the other did low ropes with Tawny Owl and Jackie. We made bows & arrows and money sacks. Our district commisioner came to see us and stopped for lunch.
We had vegetable soup with bread rolls and then the groups swopped activities. We made tea light holders & goblets for our medieval banquet on Saturday night, we ate our food using only a spoon and our hands. The food tasted really good and we ate loads!
We joined in with the other guides and famlies at a big campfire when we sang silly songs.
On Sunday morning we did archery and had a big roast dinner.
We had a great time and once again thank Jackie for helping us - see you next year!
